Applying for a Loaner Computer

To determine if your family qualifies for a loaner computer:

  • Families must qualify for free or reduced lunch (FRL) AND provide proof of income.
  • Complete and submit both a current family income form and an NVVA computer request form.

Families who apply for a laptop and do not qualify based on one of the reasons above will be notified.
Families are responsible for maintaining reliable internet access.

Community Program Supporting Families Seeking Digital Services

Connect2Compete (C2C) is a public-private collaboration with internet providers committed to improving the lives of low-income Americans by building awareness, promoting digital literacy training, and increasing access to technology. The program is offered to families with a child receiving free or reduced-price school lunches through the National School Lunch Program. Learn more about internet providers who partner with Connect2Compete.

Free Public Wi-Fi and Access to Internet-connected Computers

Nevada public libraries provide free Wi-Fi, and patrons can use public computer stations and notebooks in the branches. Many local cafes, restaurants, and businesses also provide free Wi-Fi.

Request Your High School Diploma

NVVA students denied a standard high school or adult standard diploma solely because they did not satisfy any existing requirement to pass the Nevada High School Proficiency Examination (NHSPE) will be issued a standard high school or adult standard diploma if:

  1. Students submit a written request to NVVA to determine whether they, notwithstanding the failure to satisfy any existing requirement to pass the NHSPE, otherwise satisfied existing requirements to receive a standard high school or adult standard diploma; and
  2. After reviewing student transcripts and any other relevant documentation, NVVA determines that, notwithstanding the failure to satisfy any existing requirement to pass the NHSPE, students otherwise satisfied existing requirements to receive a standard high school or adult standard diploma.

Updating Your Address

To request an address change, complete this form and submit your proof of residency.

Accepted types of proof of residency include:

  • Utility bill: Gas, electric, water, etc., (insurance and cell phone bills are not accepted as proof of residency)
  • Lease agreement (first and last pages only)
  • Mortgage statement (first and last pages only)

If proof of residency is not in the legal guardian's name (for example, the guardian is living with family or friends) the guardian needs to provide a signed, notarized letter from the owner of the property stating the student and legal guardian live at that current residence. In addition, the guardian needs to provide a proof of residency from the owner of the property.
